Why An IBS Diet Plan Is The Best Cure For IBS

Irritable Bowel Syndrome - or IBS for short is a condition of the gut which includes the bowels. IBS is generally known as a 'functional' disorder. This means that there is nothing wrong with the gut or bowels in structure, they are just not functioning correctly. This is worth remembering.

IBS is generally a food or diet related problem so a diet change is what is needed. A simple change in diet worked for me, and it worked within days.

An Ideal IBS Diet Plan:

An ideal IBS diet plan is very complicated. The idea is to reduce your intake of ingredients to less than 20. Each of these foods should give you enough variety to cover breakfast, lunch and dinner and enough variety so that you don't get bored with your meals. The reason you food should be limited is so you can re-introduce foods at a slow rate to help diagnose what the problem foods are for you. An ideal IBS diet should include:

No sugar foods No refined carbobydrates (as few carbohydrates as possible) No fruit at first As little roughage/fibre as possible (fibre is not absorbed into the body and so remains in the gut causing gas and abdominal pain.

As you can see from this criteria it is very difficult to get an ideal plan that covers all of this. I strongly believe that a change in diet is needed, at the very least it is the first place to start. It is the easiest thing to try and it shows results quicker than any other method, you can see results in days if done correctly.
