Easy Office Exercises To Relieve Stress And Lose Weight

Stuck in an office all day, sitting in a chair, being under stress dealing with co-workers, clients and paper work? Then you're a health problem waiting to happen. You can relieve stress and lose weight by doing these easy office exercises.

One of the simplest things that you can do is swap your office chair for an exercise ball. Sitting on an exercise ball forces you to use your core muscles to keep from falling off, giving you an all day abdominal workout. Sitting on an exercise ball will also encourage good posture, which will relief various aches and pains from improper sitting.

If sitting on an exercise ball all day is not for you, a few simple moves can turn your standard office chair into a piece of exercise equipment. Do some office chair push-ups by placing your hands on the arms of the chair and push up, raising your buttocks and feet off the floor. Just 10 of these office chair push-ups a day will give your triceps, chest muscles and core a light workout and help tone the muscles.

Before an office or client meeting, go for a brisk 10-15 minute walk outside, if possible. The brisk walk and change of scenery will help you clear your mind, release stress and the exercise will release endorphins in your brain to improve your overall mood, enabling you to handle a stressful situation better.

If you can't go for a brisk walk, take a yoga break every day while at the office. You can do yoga stretches and Pilates moves right at your desk, if there is no other available option. Yoga and Pilates will improve flexibility, strength and reduce stress.

If you can incorporate one or more of these easy office exercises into your workday routine, you will relieve stress and lose weight.
